Lindsay Place is an affordable, older adult (62+) community with several apartments equipped to accommodate those who are mobility impaired (available to those over the age of 18).

Lindsay Place is located in a quiet rural area at the edge of a town that was established in 1902 by farming and oil industries. It is a cottage-style setting of four separate buildings with well-groomed lawns, flowerbeds, and trees.

The city provides a van, free of charge, which will take residents shopping. A pharmacy will deliver directly to our residents. Lindsay Place is close to shopping, banks, restaurants, and medical facilities.

Home health care is available and meals are served five days a week from the Senior Center if you choose.

Pets are welcome but a deposit is required and there is a size limitation.

Lindsay Place is a smoke-free community.

What type of housing is Lindsay Place? Is it low-income housing?

Lindsay Place is a subsidized housing community for seniors over the age of 62 and the mobility impaired. The term “subsidized housing” means that the rent is based on income. A resident of the community pays approximately 30% of their income as rent.

Who pays the remainder of the rent?

The remainder of the rent is paid in the form of a subsidy. If a resident qualifies for a subsidy, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), a U.S. government agency, will pay the remainder of the rent.

How is rent calculated?

Resident rent is based on approximately 30% of income. A good estimate of your rent would be to take 30% of your gross annual income and divide it by 12 months. This will give you an estimate of what your monthly rent could be.

What does the rent include?

Monthly rental of the apartment, as well as water, sewer, and sanitation.

Is there a lease?

Yes, there is a one-year lease, but we understand the necessity of unanticipated move-outs.

How many apartments are there?

Lindsay Place has 30 apartments.

How do I get started with the move-in process?

Simply fill out an application completely, sign it, and mail it to the address on the back of the application.

Is there a waiting list for residency?

Yes, currently Lindsay Place has a waiting list. Please call for the approximate waiting time.

What is the Security Deposit?

The Security Deposit is the same as one month’s full rent (before the utility allowance) with a minimum of $50. This deposit is due in full at the signing of the lease.

Do you allow pets?

Lindsay Place welcomes your pet. Fish and birds are welcomed without a deposit. We also welcome small dogs and cats with a pet deposit. There is a limit of one animal (cat or dog) per apartment and there are certain size and breed restrictions.

What is the Pet Deposit?

The pet deposit is the same amount as the security deposit with a minimum of $50 and a maximum of $300. We can make payment arrangements for this deposit. Beginning with $50 and then a monthly payment of $10 until the deposit is paid in full.

Is there additional storage space available?

There is no additional storage available, however, each style of apartment offers a large amount of storage space.

Is parking available?

Yes, Lindsay Place offers its residents the use of a parking lot, however, only one vehicle is allowed per apartment.

What is the cost for parking?

There is no cost for parking.

How many keys do I receive?

Residents receive an apartment key and a key to a locked mailbox for their apartment.

Are there any planned activities?

Lindsay Place prints a monthly newsletter showing the dates and times of various activities. Monthly activities could include bingo, games, and potlucks.

Are there on-site laundry facilities?

Yes, Lindsay Place has a laundry center. It contains two coin-operated washers and two coin-operated dryers with folding and hanging areas and a sink for the convenience of our residents. The center is located inside the community room.

Is there any public transportation available?v

Yes, currently the city of Lindsay has a bus service called the Delta Bus. This service comes to pick up residents when they are called. The hours for service are from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday.
