Desert Haven has 40 residential apartments for seniors 62 years of age or older or someone over the age of 18 who would benefit from the architectural features of a barrier-free apartment and is located in Odessa, Texas.

Desert Haven is located near pharmacies, doctors and community shopping.

Our residents enjoy frequent parties, potluck suppers, bingo, and a variety of other activities which are held in the community room.

Pets are welcomed but require a deposit and there is a size limitation.

Desert Haven is a smoke-free community.

What is Desert Haven?

Desert Haven operates under the Section 202/8 program, which serves the elderly/disabled. The head or co-head of the household must be 62 years of age or older, or persons who are 18 years of age or older who would benefit from the architectural features of the barrier free unit.

What do I need to do to get into Desert Haven?

Simply complete an application and mail it to the address on the back.

Is there a waiting list?

Yes, please call for an approximate waiting time.

Is there a Security Deposit?

The Security Deposit is the same as one month rent with a minimum of $50. This deposit is due in full at the signing of the lease.

How much will my rent be?

Rent is based on approximately 30% of annual income. A good estimate of your rent would be to take 30% of your gross annual income and divide it by 12 months. This will give you an estimate of what your monthly rent could be.

What does my rent include?

Heat, Air Conditioner, Hot Water, Discounted Cable, All Utilities Paid

Desert Haven has 40 apartments.

How big are the apartments?

The square footage of the one-bedroom apartments are approximately 502 square feet.

Do the apartments have washers and dryers?

No, Desert Haven has a laundry room available in our community building.

Is there an elevator?

No, Desert Haven is a one-story community

Is there a lease?

Yes, there is a one-year lease, but we understand the necessity of unanticipated move-outs

Do you allow pets?

Desert Haven welcomes you to bring your pets along with you. Fish and birds are welcomed without a deposit. We also welcome small dogs and cats with a pet deposit. There is a limit of one animal (cat or dog)per apartment and there are certain size and breed restrictions.

What is the Pet Deposit?

The pet deposit is the same amount as the security deposit with a minimum of $50 and a maximum of $300. We can make payment arrangements for this deposit. Beginning with $50 and then a monthly payment of $10 until the deposit is paid in full.
