What type of housing is Granada Gardens? Is it low-income housing?
Granada Gardens is a subsidized housing community for families as well as seniors. Rent is based on income level.
Who pays the remainder of the rent?
If rent is subsidized, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), a U.S. government agency, pays the remainder.
What does the rent include?
Monthly rental of the apartment, as well as gas and water. Electricity is paid for by the resident. If the resident qualifies, an electric allowance is deducted from their rent. Energy assistance from the state may be available.
Is there a lease?
Yes, there is a one-year lease.
How many apartments are there?
Granada Gardens has 169 apartments.
How big are the apartments?
There are 32, one-bedroom apartments; 96, two-bedroom apartments; 16, three-bedroom apartments; and 25, four-bedroom houses which are around the perimeter of the complex.
How do I get started with the move-in process?
Simply fill out an application completely, sign it and mail it to the address on the back of the application.
Is there a waiting list for residency?
Yes, currently Granada Gardens has a waiting list.
What can I do to get into your building sooner?
Nothing, you just have to be patient and wait until your name moves to the top of the list.
What is the Security Deposit?
The Security Deposit is the same as one month’s full rent (before the electric allowance). This deposit is due in full at the signing of the lease.
