We currently have an open position for a Staff Attorney at our Retirement Housing Foundation located in Long Beach, CA.
JOB DUTIES:
Retirement Housing Foundation (RHF), one of the nation’s largest nonprofit providers of affordable housing and services for seniors, persons with disabilities, and economically challenged families has an immediate opening for a Staff Attorney at its corporate headquarters in Long Beach, California. The Staff Attorney provides advice and legal representation on a broad range of legal matters including rendering verbal and written advice on legal subjects; recommending legal strategic and tactical initiatives; evaluating the merits of major legal cases, working with the appropriate senior management and the Executive V.P. & General Counsel in regards to a variety of complex matters such as discrimination, employment, employee relations, contract compliance, and administrative rule requirements; advises on contracts, acquisitions, new business ventures, and other transactional matters; assists senior management with risk management strategies, insurance procurement, and claims; and provides training and assistance in the development of policies, procedures, and programs.
REQUIREMENTS:
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Juris Doctorate degree from ABA-accredited law school.
- California Bar membership and eligibility to practice law in the State of California
- Prior associate experience helpful but not required; Prior experience in nonprofit and elderly housing organizations is also helpful.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
- Meticulous, detail-oriented approach to work matters.
- Ability to deal professionally, courteously, and efficiently with people.
